Octocon 2002 Art Gallery

In years past, Octocon regularly featured an art show. Unfortunately, the running of an art show is a very complex affair, with many problems (not least of which is the need for the art show to be constantly manned), and so in recent years the art show was dropped.

This year, however, we've decided to bring back the art show, but with a difference...

This year, it's going to be an electronic art show! The images will be projected as a slideshow onto the wall of the dealers' room, each image lasting a few seconds before being replaced with the next.

This means that not only will we be able to display painted art (and display it HUGE!), but we'll also be able to feature computer-generated images, animation, and short movies.

If you wish to submit to the Octocon art gallery, please note the following rules:

  1. Images can only be submitted electronically! We're assuming that since you're reading this on-line, then you have access to (a) a computer and (b) the Internet. If you have a physical object (a painting, sculpture, model, etc.) and do not have access to a scanner or digital camera, we might be able to help.
  2. Images should be in JPEG format, not larger than 1280 by 1024 pixels. Note that we may need to scale up or scale down the image.
  3. Animations / movies should be no longer than two minutes.
  4. Only five images / animations per person.
  5. Only members of Octocon 2002 may submit to the gallery.
  6. Your submission should arrive no later than 31st September 2002.
  7. Make sure that your name accompanies every image!
  8. We reserve the right to reject any submission, without explanation.

To submit images, please save them in JPEG format click here and fill out the submission form. To submit a video clip, please save it in MPEG format and send it by email to gallery at octocon dot com. Note that you must include a valied email address with all submissions.
